Prototype.js has a new homepage that truly does the library justice. With the new documentation that conveniently allows for both technical documentation and walk through tutorials, it no longer feels like a mountain of a task to learn this JavaScript library. Major credit goes out to the guys who made this happen. A sincere thank you from this JavaScript developer. And as if that isn’t enough to satisfy your Prototype fix, remember that both Sergio Pereira’s notes and Jonathan Snook’s cheat sheet have been updated to version 1.5.

    Oh sweet nectar.

I’m one of those people who learn by doing as opposed to some who can see or hear something and remember it. This long overdue documentation will help those of us not smart enough to build without the blueprints. Way to go guys.

Thanks for the nice comments Ryan, hope you will find the docs useful!

I have a little secret to share with you: its your articles and Justin’s posts that got me started on Prototype a long time ago. So thanks for that too!

Even though prototype has lost some of its luster recently to jQuery. Its currently one of the standard javascript frameworks and with the addition of a great documentation site, hopefully it will get bigger contribution and recognition from the web community.
