The past two weeks have been as crazy and uncertain as we have seen around here since we’ve started Particletree. A last minute acceptance email sent Kevin off to Startup School in Boston, which ultimately convinced him of the benefits associated with Y Combinator. Kevin’s excitement rubbed off on the rest of us, and we submitted a Y Combinator application shortly after. Five days of anxiety ensued as we waited to hear if we would be one of the finalists.
In the middle of the night on the final judging day, we received an email confirming us as one of the finalists for the Winter Founders Program. Our happiness was shortlived as we knew we had only a week to plan flights, accomodations and preparations for an interview with startup superheroes - not to mention trying to stand out amongst a crowd of many talented groups. We arrived in Boston awaiting the big interview.
I will save the details of the interview for some other time because it still has to settle in, but in short, we received a call last night letting us know that we were accepted into the program. Right now, all we have been feeling is stress, happiness, confusion, fear and most importantly, hope. Hope that we can live up to our dreams, hope that we can take advantage of this opportunity, and hope that we have no regrets. We have a magazine to finish right now on 12 inch laptops, but we wanted to share the good news and get everyone excited. We’re going to Silicon Valley!
Congratulations!!! That is an amazing opportunity!
You guys got to tell me when you come over. I’ll treat you all to dinner. :D
