I can’t really say if I’m happy to see this happen - I really liked the Aquaized widgets for their consistency. I started noticing the change some time last year in nightlies and wasn’t really fond of that.

Also note that padding not being honored is actually a bug.

As Safari uses the WebKit framework for rendering rather than KHTML, it is probably a better idea to use “-webkit-appearance” than “-khtml-appearance” when targeting it. The “-khtml-” prefix is still supported for backwards-compatibility, but the “-webkit-” prefix is preferred going forward.
